The two-time Women's World Cup winner initially joined the Magpies on loan from Orlando Pride last summer and has now made the switch permanent.
Morgan has made five appearances during her time in the North East, scoring a last minute equaliser against Crystal Palace in October.

On signing permanently, Morgan said: "I'm delighted to have signed a permanent contract with the club. I have really enjoyed my time here and in the city so far.
"I'm excited to get back on the pitch with the girls and keep working towards our ambitions for this season and beyond."
Manager Tanya Oxtoby said: "Morgan has had a challenging time with injury since I came into the role, but her leadership qualities around the group have been key for us.
"Her experience in the game speaks for itself and we are looking forward to welcoming her back onto the pitch."
