Morocco FA Rewards U20 World Champions for Historic Triumph
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation FRMF's set to reward the country’s U20 national team with exceptional financial bonuses following their historic FIFA U20 World Cup triumph in Chile.
According to multiple Moroccan media reports, federation president Fouzi Lekjaa has instructed that each player receive at least $100000 in recognition of the team’s heroic campaign with sources suggesting the figure could rise even higher in the coming days.
Morocco made history by becoming 1st Arab nation and only the second African country after Ghana in 2009 to lift the U20 world title.
The young Atlas Cubs stunned 6 time champions Argentina thanks to 1st half brace from star forward Yassir Zabiri who struck free kick in the 12 minute before adding 2nd in the 29th.
The victory capped off remarkable campaign that included knockout wins over France and Colombia and marked Morocco’s debut appearance in U20 World Cup final.
