FIFA updated its world ranking on Monday after Sunday’s Africa Cup of Nations final, with Morocco breaking into the top 10 and tournament winners Senegal up to 12th.
According to L'Équipe, Morocco have risen to eighth from 11th in the 22 December 2025 list, while Senegal, who beat the Atlas Lions 1-0 after extra time on Sunday, have climbed seven places.

Nigeria and Cameroon also made big gains, moving up 12 places to 26th and 45th respectively.
The top three are unchanged. Spain lead the table, followed by Argentina and France.
The next FIFA ranking update is scheduled for 1 April.
