The ongoing international break is proving to be an unlucky one for Real Madrid, with players getting hit with injuries.

After all, both Ibrahima Konate and Kylian Mbappe have returned to the Spanish capital after being released from the France squad due to physical problems.

Not to forget, Federico Valverde had to drop out of the Uruguay squad due to an injury he sustained against Atletico Madrid just before the break.

Now, the Merengues have been handed another reason for worry as Brahim Diaz has picked up a minor issue while away with Morocco.

Morocco coach provides an update on Brahim Díaz’s condition

Indeed, Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi has confirmed that the Real Madrid attacker is currently dealing with a minor injury.

This comes after the Real Madrid player did not feature for Morocco in their 2-0 victory over Gabon, in the opening round of qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The situation has been addressed by Ouahbi, as he said (h/t Defensa Central): “Brahim has an injury that is not serious.”

The Morocco boss moved to confirmed that Brahim will remain with the national team camp, with the hope that he will be fit for the upcoming match against Lesotho.

“He will stay with us receiving treatment, with the hope of getting him back as soon as possible,” Ouahbi stated.

The medical staff of the Morocco national team remain in regular contact with their counterparts at Real Madrid.

Both sides understand that the best course of action is not to force Brahim, who is keen to help his national teammates but also understands that the season is a long one.

This is not the first time Brahim has had to manage a physical issue this season. The Moroccan international has been dealing with some minor discomfort in recent weeks.

The problems appeared several matches ago and have not completely disappeared. They have affected Brahim’s day-to-day work, although the player understands that stopping is not currently an option.

Jose Mourinho has also had to carefully manage his workload, with the aim of preventing his muscular discomfort from becoming a more serious problem.

The Real Madrid coach values Brahim because of his versatility, which is not an easy quality to find. For now, the player is continuing to be monitored while working towards a return.
