Walid Regragui is set to leave his role as manager of the Morocco national team. His replacement could be named in a matter of hours, as per a report from French media Foot Mercato

As reported by Foot Mercato, Regragui, who led the Atlas Lions to the semi-finals of the last FIFA World Cup, had asked to depart his role, following defeat to Senegal in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final last month.

That request has now been accepted by the Moroccan Football Federation, Foot Mercato understands. As a result, Regragui is set to depart, just months before the World Cup, set to be held in Canada, the United States of America, and Mexico.

His replacement has already been lined up. Mohamed Ouahbi is set to take the reins, Foot Mercato understands. He recently led the Morocco U20 side to victory in the U20 World Cup. He now earns a promotion to the senior side.
