In Morocco, rumors about Walid Regragui’s departure from the Atlas Lions’ bench are set to become reality.

Despite recent denials from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Walid Regragui is living out his final days as head coach of the Atlas Lions. According to Foot Mercato, the coach has traveled to Morocco to sign the termination of his contract, just three months before the start of the 2026 World Cup. Only a few administrative formalities remain to be settled.

Mohamed Ouahbi, former U20 coach, is expected to take over from Regragui, who was worn out by the dramatic end to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (a 0-1 loss after extra time against Senegal).
