Juventus boss Thiago Motta has revealed that Khéphren Thuram and Weston McKennie can play alongside each other, despite having occupied the same role this season.

“Thuram and McKennie can definitely play together,” Motta told his pre-match press conference. “We’ll see tomorrow whether they will start or possibly come on as subs as the game progresses. As I’ve always said, those who will come onto the pitch from the bench, as was the case in Genoa, are also very important.”

“All the players are doing well and can play. Tomorrow we will field the best possible line-up. It’s important that each of them can express their characteristics to the best of their ability, regardless of who will play.”

The boss also fielded questions about Dušan Vlahović, who scored a two goals at the weekend after some early season struggles.

“Vlahović is fine,” continued Motta. “He has been fine since the first day of the season. He is a positive leader of this group. Of course he is very happy about the brace he scored against Genoa, but his attitude has always been positive, even when the goals didn’t come.

“He has always worked for the good of the team.”

Juve face RB Leipzig on Wednesday, and the boss gave some clues about his research on the opposition.

“Tomorrow I expect a team that will come and press us in our own half, so we will have to be ready for this,” said the former Italy international.

“We will have to play well with the ball at our feet and be organised when we don’t have it. We will have to be a dynamic team.”

After travelling to Germany for the Champions League, Juventus are back at home on Saturday when they will face Cagliari.
