Tension has flared at Benfica after Dodi Lukebakio’s angry reaction to being taken off, with José Mourinho and the 28-year-old expected to sit down to discuss the incident.

The flashpoint came on 58 minutes when Mourinho replaced Lukebakio with Gianluca Prestianni, who later played a part in one of Benfica’s goals.

According to Record, Mourinho swiftly reprimanded the winger after his displeasure at the change became clear.

Lukebakio threw the jacket he was given and punched the substitutes’ bench several times.

Staff tried to calm him, yet after the final whistle and with the pitch cleared, he still looked furious.

The pair are expected to meet at Seixal after a day off on Sunday, 26 April, to go over the episode. Mourinho is not thought to be seeking an apology. It remains to be seen whether the Belgian will stay in Mourinho’s plans as Benfica prepare for Famalicão.
