José Mourinho is preparing for the Alvalade derby against Sporting, but his presence remains in question amid ongoing disciplinary proceedings.
A Bola writes that, after his red card in the Clássico, the Benfica coach was given a one-match ban and 11 days of suspension. Before facing Vitória de Guimarães, Benfica appealed to the Tribunal Arbitral do Desporto to annul the second part of the punishment.
The legal body granted an interim injunction, allowing the 63-year-old to sit on the bench against Vitória. He has since overseen games with Casa Pia and Nacional, with a final decision still to come.
On Tuesday 14 April, after a rest day, Mourinho resumed work with the squad for derby preparations. Leandro Barreiro and Fredrik Aursnes have returned. Tomás Araújo is still a doubt.
The match, part of the 30th round of the Liga Portugal Betclic, is set for Sunday 19 April at 18:00. Benfica are chasing three points to keep alive hopes of climbing to second place, where Sporting currently sit.
