On the eve of the 29th round against Nacional, Mourinho has a selection boost at Benfica as his options increase.

According to A Bola, Amar Dedic is expected to come straight back into the starting side, replacing Alexander Bah who began against Casa Pia in Rio Maior, with Mourinho understood to favour the Bosnian in that position. The report also notes his absence there gave him more than a week to recover after two taxing internationals.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina defender has completed a two-match suspension for his red card in Arouca and is ready to feature.

Last week in Rio Maior, Mourinho lamented Dedic’s absence, underlining the player’s intensity, irreverence, his willingness to attack defences and the sharper tempo he brings. He also argued the two-game ban was severe compared with most red cards in this league, noting that even aggressive or offensive gestures often draw only a one-match suspension.

This season Dedic, valued at 15 million euros, has played 37 times for Benfica, with 18 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 14 in the Champions League, three in the Taça de Portugal, and one each in the Taça da Liga and Supertaça. Across 3,097 minutes he has one goal and three assists.
