Jose Mourinho has joked that he was ‘worried’ that Inter were going to win the treble in 2024-25 and has explained why he did not want Simone Inzaghi and the Nerazzurri to win three major titles this season.
Jose Mourinho is still the most recent coach to win the Champions League with an Italian club, dating back to the 2009-10 season, when the Nerazzurri beat Bayern Munich in the final at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Special One also remains the only coach to win a treble with an Italian club.

For that reason, he joked with Sky Sports that he did not want Inter to win the treble, but now that the Serie A title has gone to Napoli and the Coppa Italia to Bologna, Mourinho is rooting for the Nerazzurri in the Champions League final.
He did add that given the job Luis Enrique has done since taking over at PSG, he would be happy to see him lift the trophy as well.
“I’m going to be very naughty, but very honest. I was worried they could win the treble, because I didn’t want them to win the treble, the treble is mine,” Mourinho joked with Sky.
“But now they lost the championship and the Italian cup, I would love them to win the Champions League, but of course Luis Enrique’s doing an amazing job in Paris. He transformed the team, they lost let’s say the number one player, but they rebuilt it in a fantastic way, so if Luis wins, I’m also happy for him.”
