Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho has no interest in signing Manchester United winger Antony before the Turkish transfer deadline on Friday evening.
The Brazil international has fallen down the pecking order at the Red Devils. He is currently a regular on the substitutes’ bench under manager Erik ten Hag.
Antony is reportedly desperate to leave the club on loan, and Fenerbahce could be in pole position to secure his signature.
However, Manchester Evening News claims Mourinho has no intention of bringing Antony to Istanbul.
The 24-year-old joined the Red Devils from Ajax for an initial £81 million in 2022. He has failed to live up to the price tag with several inconsistent displays.
Antony has made just 16 goal contributions from 83 appearances for United. He has played only one minute of regulation time this season.
It is quite clear that he has fallen down the pecking order. Ten Hag prefers Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo on the right side of the attack.
With Antony being a single position player, his situation may not improve in the coming months.
The club could cut their losses on him as they did with Jadon Sancho, who joined Chelsea on loan with an obligation to buy for £25m this summer.
United require around £32.5m from Antony’s departure next year to avoid a loss under the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules.
