José Mourinho is monitoring the form of Tiago Freitas, the Benfica B midfielder, who could be involved in pre-season. According to Glorioso 1904, the 19-year-old has remained on the first-team radar despite limited spotlight since his senior debut.

Mourinho has been impressed by his attributes and is following his development. Freitas made his debut against Napoli, then a ligament injury stalled his momentum. After recovery, he returned to regular work with the squad.

He has been a frequent presence in senior sessions. His physicality, intensity and competitive edge match what the head coach is seeking as he looks ahead to 2026/27. The staff intend to monitor him through to the end of the campaign.

Freitas continues to split time between Benfica B and training with the seniors. Pre-season integration is virtually guaranteed, with the aim of assessing him more closely. He is currently with Portugal Under-20s, scored in a win over Switzerland and is preparing further fixtures before returning to Benfica to continue his push.

This season he is valued at €550,000 and has played 31 official matches for Benfica, 18 in Liga Portugal Meu Super, six in the UEFA Youth League, six in the Liga Revelação and one in the Champions League. Across 1,491 minutes he has five goals and four assists.
