Sky Sport Italia claims José Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are leading the race for Sassuolo winger Armand Laurienté.
Turkish side Fenerbahce are leading the race to sign Laurienté from Sassuolo, reports Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Neroverdi were relegated to Serie B after a highly disappointing 2023-24 season.
The Frenchman still managed five goals and six assists in 37 Serie A games last term, but fans and pundits expected a higher impact, especially after seeing him net eight goals and provide seven assists in 28 matches in 2022-23, his debut Serie A campaign.
According to Di Marzio, Serie A sides Como, Torino, Parma and Cagliari are also interested in Laurienté, but Fenerbahce have outbid all these clubs and are close to securing the winger’s signature.
According to the report, Mourinho’s side has made higher offers for both Sassuolo and their player.
Laurienté joined the Neroverdi from LF Lorient in August 2022 for €10m.
Sky Sport Italia hasn’t yet revealed the sum offered by Fenerbahce.
Laurienté’s contract at the Mapei Stadium runs out in June 2027.
