Real Madrid are monitoring Rafael Obrador’s situation, and a Benfica sale could deliver funds to Mourinho’s side because 50% of any fee is due to the Spanish club.
According to AS, Madrid expect a sale this window and are watching Roma’s interest, with Torino not taking up their nine million euro option. Benfica want at least nine million euros and Roma are preparing a bid. The report adds the money would support Madrid’s market plans.
Obrador has been instructed to report for Benfica’s pre-season. He will only leave if an offer deemed irresistible arrives. Otherwise he will be integrated and assessed by the new coaching team during pre-season, competing with Samuel Dahl and José Neto.
The left-back was loaned to Torino when the club were managed by José Mourinho.
This season he played 20 matches, including 16 in Serie A, two in Liga Portugal Meu Super, one in Coppa Italia and one in Liga Portugal Betclic. Across 1,446 minutes, 67 with Benfica’s first team, he registered one goal and four assists. He is valued at five million euros.
