Mousinho confirms Portsmouth transfer priority ahead of season opener | OneFootball

Portsmouth boss John Mousinho has confirmed he is still keen to add to his midfield this summer.

Pompey get their season started with a Carabao Cup clash at West Ham on Saturday and have already had a busy summer of incomings and outgoings.

But Mousinho says he is still keen to bolster his squad – especially in the middle of the pitch.

“We’re definitely looking at additions in midfield,” he told Portsmouth News.

“It will most likely be there (number six position). If you look at where we’ve been over the past couple of seasons, we’ve had Pottsy in there with Isaac Hayden towards the back end of the first Championship season.

“Last year we had Doz, Luke and Marlon. With Marlon out at the moment and Doz leaving we do feel that we are short there.”

Pompey are also eyeing a move for former loan star Abu Kamara.
