French attacker Moussa Diaby has left Aston Villa just 12 months after his arrival in the midlands, the club have confirmed.

The winger became Aston Villa's record signing in 2023 when they signed him from Bayer Leverkusen, and scored 10 times in 54 games across all competitions for Unai Emery and co. as he helped them reach the Champions League for the first time since the 1980s.

However, he has left after only a year, with the 25-year-old moving to Saudi side Al-Ittihad in a deal worth up to 60m euros.
