Everton returned to winning ways on Sunday with a hard-earned 1-0 victory over Aston Villa, thanks to Thierno Barry’s composed finish at Villa Park.
The summer signing’s audacious chip proved decisive in what was another resolute away display from David Moyes' side.
The win was Everton’s 10th Premier League away victory since Moyes returned 12 months ago, a tally matched only by league leaders Arsenal. In that period, only Mikel Arteta's men have collected more away points (37), with Everton’s 34 highlighting their impressive consistency on the road.
It’s a remarkable turnaround given the Toffees had managed just one away league win in the year before Moyes’ return under Sean Dyche.
The victory also ended Aston Villa’s 11-game home winning streak across all competitions and marked Everton’s first league win at Villa Park since March 2016.
