Xabi Alonso has said Mykhailo Mudryk is available for selection after returning to the Chelsea squad following his doping suspension.
Mudryk was suspended for four years after failing a drug test which revealed the presence of a low concentration of meldonium, a prohibited substance, in 2024. On Friday, it was announced that the Ukrainian could return to playing immediately after the FA and the World Anti-Doping Agency “resolved his appeal.”
The 25-year-old arrived for Chelsea’s pre-season tour over the weekend, and was reintegrated into training on Monday. Ahead of the Blues’ clash against Juventus, Alonso confirmed the winger could feature against the Serie A side.
“We are thrilled Misha could be with us. You could see his smile, the great feeling for him to be back. Fitness level, we will see. He has been working hard. Now it’s about trying to do things with his teammates.

“He came directly from the airport to the hotel. Yesterday was more about the feelings and emotions, than to assess fitness level. But yes, he could play. 90 minutes too early. He can be selected, he can play.
“He’s been a long time training on his own. It’s different – he needs to be involved with teammates. He’s really professional. Now it’s about growing progressively.”
The Spaniard also remained tight-lipped on the winger’s future at the west Londoners, with Coventry City rumoured to be interested in the forward.
“No decision made. We need to assess, he is a special player but it is a special case so we need to be sensitive.”
