There will be a lengthy break in the WSL action for the Aston Villa Women. Natalia Arroyo has seemingly secured her team's place in the top division, but in a little over two weeks from now, AVWFC will begin its final stretch. Only four fixtures remain on the schedule to close out the 2024-2025 year. Villa will hope to keep up their excellent play that saw them earn three points against Liverpool.
That aspect remains on hold for now, as the international break is in session. Between friendlies and the Nations League, there are a number of games to watch between nations. Nine Villans will be a part of the upcoming games between the senior teams and younger sides. Without league play, there will be a number of matches for Villa fans to tune in to, to see how the players do away from their club for their home countries.
Sabrina D'Angelo will be part of the Canadian team, as the North Americans take on Argentina in two home friendlies on Friday, April 4th, and Tuesday, April 8th. She will look to stay ready in a goalkeeping group that includes Kailen Sheridan.
Maz Pacheco has also received a call-up. She will be part of the Philippines' side that travels to the Middle East. They will face the UAE in two friendlies. The matches are also set to take place on Friday and Tuesday.
Noelle Maritz will be busy traveling. Switzerland will first host France on Friday in Nations League group play. They will then make the trip to Iceland. The defender will look to help keep a clean sheet for her side as they continue to get into form before the upcoming Euros.
Chasity Grant then prepares for her duties with the Netherlands. The Dutch will play two legs against Austria. Friday will be in Holland. Tuesday, meanwhile, will see the two sides face off in Austria. They are currently tied with Germany in Group A1 with four points.
Anna Patten will get ready with Ireland as they are set to face Greece. Friday will have the Irish side traveling to the Greek island of Crete. Tuesday will see the return fixture at Tallaght Stadium. They will hope to make up ground in Group B2 against Slovenia.
The Scottish team and Kirsty Hanson will then have their sights set on Germany. Scotland will host the Germans on Friday. On Tuesday, they will then travel to Wolfsburg. Being in the same group as Grant and the Netherlands with a good DFB side makes Group A1 one of the more intriguing ones in the Nations League.
England will have several AVWFC players representing the Lionesses at various levels of the national team. Lucy Parker will be part of the side that hosts Belgium on Friday. They will then go to Leuven on Tuesday as they look to finish above Portugal in Group A3.
The U-23 England team will feature three Villa players. Missy Bo Kearns and Katie Robinson played against Spain on Thursday. Georgia Mullett, who is currently on loan at Southampton, made her debut. Bo Kearns and Robinson started for Emma Coates’ side, while Mullett came off the bench in the second half. England will now face Belgium on Sunday in Spain.
Rachel Maltby and Sophia Poor, who is currently on loan with the London City Lionesses, are part of the U-19 side. After defeating Belgium in Round Two of the Euro 2025 Group A3 matchup, they will now face Austria on Saturday and Ukraine on Tuesday.
Arroyo will stay in Birmingham with the rest of the players. Her attention will assuredly also be on the Aston Villa players who are competing over the upcoming fixtures for their national teams.
