Milan’s Yunus Musah was sent off for two bookable offences in the first half of the final Champions League league phase fixture against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday evening, leaving his teammates a goal and a man down heading into the interval.
The night did not get off to a good start for Sergio Conceicao’s men. An error from Matteo Gabbia handed the lead to a Zagreb side coached by 2006 World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro.
Musah went into the book 10 minutes later. In a fairly poor decision on his part, he decided to try and pull Raul Torrente back up off the floor while he was down trying to claim a free-kick.

The Zagreb players were not best pleased at Musah’s attempts to get the game going again, which led to Josip Misic also being shown a yellow.
Things went from bad to worse for Milan and Musah 10 minutes later, as the USMNT midfielder hauled down Luka Stojkovic right on the edge of the penalty area. His arms were wrapped around his opponent.

Though he shouldn’t have had many complaints about the decision, Musah remained on the pitch in disbelief, protesting with the officials in an unsuccessful attempt to get the decision overturned.
Mike Maignan almost had to push him off the pitch in order to get the game underway again.
