For some time now, Bayern Munich have been trying to extend Jamal Musiala's contract beyond 2026.
Bild and Sky have both reported in recent days that the Bavarians are very optimistic of reaching an agreement with the 21-year-old, with one of the main reasons being the club's willingness to grant the attacking midfielder a release clause.
Musiala himself told a press conference on Tuesday that he's keeping an eye on the reports about his future and that talks are going well.
“I find it funny, everything I've read," Musiala told reporters, adding:
"Everyone who really knows me knows how highly I regard the club and how much I like being here. I'm concentrating on football and let's see what happens in the next few weeks. The talks are going well.”
As well as Musiala, Bayern are in contract talks with a number of other players, including two of Musiala's best friends.
“Alphonso Davies and Leroy Sané are two of my closest mates. They're important players for us. We'll see what happens, but I'd be pleased to play together with them for the coming years,” said Musiala.
Both Davies and Sané are out of contract in 2025. The same goes for Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Thomas Müller, Eric Dier and Sven Ulreich.
