Bayern vs. PSG have turned into one of the best rivalries in modern times. All of their matchups are must-watch entertainment - and Bayern have been able to defeat PSG in 4 of their prior 5 encounters.

Jamal Musiala's injury in the first half has definetly overshadowed this game in the Club World Cup - he will miss a good portion of the upcoming season, maybe even a whole year.

In the end, PSG were able to beat Bayern 2-0 in what is now confirmed to be Thomas Müller's last ever match for Bayern Munich.

Here is the match report for this very exciting matchup between two of the best teams of the tournament:

First half:

The match opened with high intensity. Both teams worked hard to control the tempo, leading to a fairly even contest.

Chances came early: Michael Olise tested Donnarumma around the 6th minute, while Konrad Laimer had a shot just over the bar in the 11th minute.

Around the 20‑minute mark, PSG ramped up pressure. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia broke free on the left and forced a spectacular leg-save from Manuel Neuer, who proved in this game, that he still belongs in the top category of goalkeepers in the world.

Bayern responded through Harry Kane via a header, but he missed a gilt‑edged opportunity - sending it over the goal from close range.

PSG's goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma also made key saves: stopping efforts from Coman and Olise on various occasions.

Sacha Boey had to replace Bayern's Josip Stanišić, who couldn't continue due to a hamstring injury.

In the 46th minute, Bayern won a free-kick delivered by Michael Olise. Dayot Upamecano rose powerfully to meet it, flicking a header into the net - only to be immediately flagged offside.

This moment was a pivotal one: Bayern had been building momentum just before the break, and that goal would’ve given them a psychological edge heading into the locker room.

Just before halftime however, a serious collision occurred: Bayern’s Jamal Musiala clashed with Donnarumma while chasing a ball near the byline. He stayed down injured and looked badly hurt - it looked like his ankle might have been broken. Musiala was later stretchered off. The incident was accidental, but gruesome, deeply affecting players and the crowd.

0-0 at halftime.

Second half:

The match understandably resumed with a cautious rhythm. Serge Gnabry came into the game for Jamal Musiala. Bayern looked to regain momentum, probing PSG’s lines, while PSG focused on counter-attacks and maintaining solidity.

Manuel Neuer and Gianluigi Donnarumma remained outstanding - Neuer repelled a fierce effort from Bradley Barcola, while Donnarumma denied both Kingsley Coman and Michael Olise with sharp reflexes.

Konrad Laimer received a yellow card in a duel with Désiré Doué - should Bayern go through to the next round, he would have to sit it out.

The match remained physically draining, with both teams incurring multiple fouls, leading to interruptions that affected the rhythm.

Manuel Neuer was caught in his typical style of play and almost conceded after losing the ball to a subbed in Ousmane Dembélé - but his shot missed the open goal by half a metre.

It looked like both teams were going towards extra-time - until the 78th minute.

It had to be Désiré Doué, Bayern's dream target from one year ago, who put the Parisians infront with a clever shot against Manuel Neuer's running direction.

Paris directly switched to a more defensive style of play, bringing in Ex-Bayern player Lucas Hernández for the only goalscorer so far, Désiré Doué.

In the 82nd minute, PSG's Willian Pacho received a straight red card for a late challenge on Leon Goretzka - this could've been the turning point for Bayern, who brought on club legend Thomas Müller for what could be his last match for Bayern, if the score doesn't change.

Harry Kane came close to getting the score leveled again - but his goal was taken back due to an offside position by the striker. That was the 2nd offside-goal for Bayern in this game.

In the 92nd minute, PSG received another red card: the subbed in Lucas Hernández hit Bayern's Raphaël Guerreiro in the face with his elbow - PSG went down to 9 men.

Dembélé proceeded to hit the woodwork in the 96th minute - and scored the late decider just seconds after that. His celebration was a tribute to the late Diogo Jota, who passed away aged 28.

But that wasn't even the final call in an extremly hectic final phase of the game: PSG's Nuno Mendes hit Thomas Müller in the box for which referee Anthony Taylor rewarded a penalty - just to take it back after a VAR review.

Paris win against Bayern - final result: 2-0.
