Alejandro Balde missed the second half of last season through injury and has worked hard over the months to return in time for the new season.

His efforts saw fruition earlier this month when he was finally given the medical all-clear and the youngster even participated in Barcelona’s first game under Hansi Flick against UE Olot.

Balde is now set to travel with the team to the United States for a massive pre-season tour. After all, he is expected to be one of the biggest beneficiaries of Hansi Flick’s arrival.

Speaking to the media earlier today (h/t Barca One), the Barcelona left-back commented on his potential future plans and whether he contemplated a departure from the club at any point.

When asked if leaving Barcelona was a possibility, he blatantly denied the same, saying,

“Plans on leaving Barça? I’m in my house… Where will I be better off than here?”

“My plan is to retire at Barça,” he added.

The young La Masia star then went on to praise his teammate Lamine Yamal for his extraordinary performances for club and country.

“Lamine Yamal is magical.”

Balde was then put to a rapid-fire quiz where he was asked to provide instant responses on a plethora of topics. To begin with, he was asked to choose between the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA World Cup.

“Winning the Champions League or the World Cup? Both.”

When asked about a player he would like to play with and whose shirt he would treasure, the youngster unsurprisingly picked one of Barcelona’s greatest-ever legends.

“A player I would like to swap shirts with? Messi.”

“A player I would like to play with? Messi.”

Finally, the Spanish phenom was asked to name the player who impressed him the most during the recently concluded European Championship, to which he said,

“Player that impressed me the most during EURO 2024? Xavi Simons did a very good tournament.”
