West Ham are interested in Raheem Sterling, but the Chelsea forward wants a permanent exit this month according to Ben Jacobs.

Sterling is part of the now infamous “bomb” squad at Chelsea, having failed to secure a move away last summer, despite interest from clubs.

The England international had a disappointing loan spell at Arsenal last season, and hasn’t played any football since.

West Ham hold an interest in Raheem Sterling

It’s believed Sterling had interest from five clubs in the summer, but his preference to remain in London made any move difficult.

The most important thing for Chelsea is getting his reported wages in excess of £300,000 per week off their books.

There’s been very little interest in Sterling, but Jacobs has reported West Ham hold an interest as he provided an update.

He took to X.com and said:

“West Ham hold an interest in Raheem Sterling, as called by @ExWHUEmployee.

“However, my understanding is Sterling is seeking a permanent exit in January.

“As it stands, he is not open to a loan without an obligation to buy.”

If a move away can’t be sorted this month, he will a have year left on his deal in the summer, and one option could be to terminate the final 12 months of his contract and allow him to leave on a free.

Axel Disasi attracting interest from numerous clubs

Axel Disasi is the other member of the “bomb” squad, but unlike Sterling he’s attracted interest from a number of clubs.

The 27-year-old has featured for Chelsea’s development side in an attempt to keep match fit ahead of a potential exit this month.

Disasi can’t join an international side on loan as Chelsea have used all their slots up, but he’s reportedly been offered to Barcelona.

Roma are believed to be in negotiations over a permanent move, whilst Paris FC and Lyon are both interested in the former Monaco man.
