FC Porto unveiled on Friday Brazilian forward Mylena Freitas as a signing for their women's team, who will compete in the top flight. The 25-year-old arrives from Brooklyn FC in the United States.
She returns to Portugal after spells with Braga and Famalicão and has a Taça de Portugal on her CV. She spoke to the club's official channels about the move.
Freitas said she was happy and excited and hopes for a season filled with smiles. She already feels at home in Portugal and was very happy when Porto's offer arrived.
She stressed the need to keep feet on the ground and accepted that what will be will be. She described herself as very competitive, while also having a Brazilian, more playful side.
Freitas added that when on the pitch they must give their best at all times.
