Nadir El Jamali has signed a contract extension with ASSE until 2029, the club announced on Tuesday. The 19-year-old midfielder has been sidelined since February after knee surgery.
The new agreement adds one year to the first professional deal he signed last summer. The Paris-born player joined in 2022 and impressed last season, playing 15 Ligue 2 matches and scoring two goals in the Coupe de France before his injury.
El Jamali is now on the comeback trail. He said he was delighted to extend, pleased to have rejoined the group in recent days, and eager to refocus on the league.
He added that he wants to work hard, without cutting corners, to try to establish himself in the team under the new staff.
Sporting director Loïc Perrin praised both the player and the person, citing his personality and determination. He said that although last season’s setback kept him out, El Jamali remains a long-term fit and will have a chance to impress the coach.
Having returned to the group, El Jamali will now turn his attention back to the league and to imposing himself within the side.
