Julian Nagelsmann has guaranteed starts for five players for Germany’s friendly with Switzerland on Friday, according to BuLi News.

At centre-back, Nico Schlotterbeck and Jonathan Tah will start ahead of Antonio Rüdiger, who returns to the squad for the first time since September after a hamstring injury. Rüdiger has trained well, accepts his role and values what the pair produced in his absence.

With Aleksandar Pavlovic and Felix Nmecha sidelined, Angelo Stiller will partner Leon Goretzka in midfield.

Kai Havertz will also start, his first Germany appearance since November 2024 after a long-term injury. The plan is to give him minutes, with the forward needing rhythm after strong work in training.

The match in Basel kicks off at 20:45 on Friday.
