Nagelsmann says he did not expect apology from Jürgen Klopp | OneFootball

Julian Nagelsmann has addressed Jürgen Klopp’s pre-tournament comments and looked to draw a line under the episode, according to BuLi News.

Germany face Cote d'Ivoire in their second match at the 2026 World Cup. The discussion surfaced before their opener, when Thomas Müller and Klopp made headlines with remarks about the team and Nagelsmann.

"I did not expect an apology from Jürgen Klopp for his comments, but he apologized and that's it for me. As some of my players have already said, I also don't listen to everybody talking about our team. That's not possible and not healthy."

Klopp had joked about Nagelsmann’s DFB future after the World Cup and questioned whether Jamal Musiala should start Germany’s first game. He later apologised, and the pair discussed the matter calmly and politely.

Nagelsmann indicated he would ignore outside noise as Germany continue their campaign.
