Discussions are taking place within the corridors of power at Arsenal over who to bring in and, according to French outlet Foot Mercato, Brest sporting director Gregory Lorenzi has been mentioned.

Lorenzi has caught the eye with his work at Brest, managing to help build a club that are now holding their own in this season’s Champions League.

The 40-year-old was appointed to his role at Brest in the summer of 2018 after previously serving as the sports coordinator.

As a player he had spells in France, Belgium and Germany.

Brest finished in third spot in the Ligue 1 standings last season, claiming Champions League football in the process.

They have beaten Sturm Graz, Red Bull Salzburg and Sparta Prague in the Champions League, while holding Bayer Leverkusen to a draw.
