Nantes make offer to Dunkerque for manager Luís Castro | OneFootball

FC Nantes have submitted an opening offer to USL Dunkerque for their manager, Luís Castro, according to L’Équipe, however, the bid falls a long way short of the Ligue 2 side’s demands.

With Pierre Sage’s appointment at RC Lens now confirmed, Nantes are looking to recruit their new manager. Antoine Kombouaré left after the conclusion of the Ligue 1 season and Sage had been one of the names discussed. However, Castro has also been on the shortlist. Talks with the Portuguese manager have already led to an agreement on personal terms.

It is now a question of finding an agreement with his current club, Dunkerque: That could prove difficult. L’Équipe understand that Nantes have submitted a bid worth €200,000. That is comfortably short of the Ligue 2 side’s demands. Whilst there is not an official release clause in his deal, there is a gentlemen’s agreement that he will be allowed to leave for a compensation fee of €2m.
