Wolverhampton Wanderers have been rejected by another Ligue 1 forward. Evann Guessand turned down a prospective move to Molineux earlier in the summer, before eventually making the switch from OGC Nice to Aston Villa. FC Nantes’ Matthis Abline wants a summer move too, but like Guessand, he has rejected a move to Wolves, according to a report from RMC Sport.

Abline is hot property this summer. There has been interest from across Europe, including from the Premier League, where both Sunderland and Wolves have entered the race. Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt have also enquired.

However, whilst Abline wants to leave Nantes, he does not want to join Wolves, who were considering a €25m offer, which, regardless of the player’s reticence to make the move, would have fallen short of Les Canaris’ valuation. Nantes want at least €40m for the forward.

The Stade Rennais academy product is prioritising staying in France. Paris FC, who have seen a €25m bid rejected, are the most interested in the player. Olympique de Marseille and Lille OSC have also been linked with the player.
