Nantes remain on alert for Strasbourg defender Abakar Sylla

Nantes are keeping tabs on Abakar Sylla as Strasbourg consider loaning the Ivorian centre-back.

According to L'Équipe, earlier talks over a loan had stalled, but Racing are again weighing the option. The 23-year-old is under contract with Strasbourg until 2028.

Sylla has had a near-blank first half of the Ligue 1 season, limited to two minutes at Nice in a 1-1 draw on 3 January.

He could also be left out of the squad to face Metz on Sunday at 15:00.

Other French clubs, along with one Italian side, are also in the frame. Sylla arrived in Alsace in summer 2023 from Club Brugge for 20 million euros including bonuses.
