According to a report from Ouest-France, FC Nantes are set to complete their first outgoing move of the winter transfer window, with Yassine Benhattab (23) joining Stade de Reims on loan until the end of the season.
The agreement includes an option to buy for the former Aubagne winger, who has struggled to establish himself in Ligue 1 this campaign. Benhattab has started just five league matches this season and was recently dropped from the squad by head coach Ahmed Kantari following a difficult performance away at Angers SCO.
Benhattab had begun the 2025–26 season in the starting XI under Luis Castro and made a positive impression in early fixtures against Paris Saint-Germain, Strasbourg, and Auxerre. However, his form dipped thereafter, and his involvement became increasingly limited before briefly being reintegrated following Kantari’s appointment.
The move is also expected to help Nantes free up space in their squad as they look to bring in reinforcements in their bid to avoid relegation. Currently occupying the relegation play-off place, the Canaries are seeking to reshape their squad this winter, with several fringe players also encouraged to find new clubs before the window closes.GFFN | George Boxall
