Mostafa Mohamed (27) will once again be absent from the FC Nantes squad on the Ligue 1 gameweek dedicated to the fight against homophobia.

Since joining Nantes back in 2022, Mohamed has been absent from the Nantes squad in the gameweek in which Ligue 1 fights against homophobia. In past years, this has involved wearing shirts with the names and numbers printed in the colours of the pride flag.

Mohamed will be absent once again from the teamsheet. RMC Sport understands that the centre-forward has refused to play, despite Antoine Kombouaré’s explanation that his absence is explained by a “small muscular concern”. Having refused to play, he has not been a part of Les Canaris’ training camp ahead of the final game of the season against Montpellier HSC. A draw would be enough to keep Kombouaré’s side up.

However, he will be without Mohamed, who, according to L’Équipe, will be handed a heavy fine by Nantes. The fine will then be given to an association.
