Mohamed-Ali Cho’s brace powered Nice to a 4-1 victory at La Beaujoire, dismantling Nantes’ back line as Matthis Abline endured a torrid evening.

L’Équipe’s player ratings underlined the gulf and highlighted Cho’s understanding with Elye Wahi.

Cho struck on 16 minutes with a crisp effort from the edge after Jonathan Clauss’s assist, Wahi’s dummy run opening the space. Tylel Tati almost conceded a penalty on 23 as he struggled with Wahi’s pace.

Sanson’s cross was met by Cho for 2-0 on 29, stealing in ahead of Cozza. Juma Bah impressed at the back, notably blocking an Abline effort on 37. Clauss’s centre was poorly cleared by Tati, the loose ball falling to Diop as the third arrived on 40.

After the interval, Wahi twice failed to find the finish on 48 and 50, and Clauss cleared off the line from Tati on 67. Cho went close to a hat-trick on 85, and Clauss later threaded a fine pass in behind. In stoppage time, Louchet’s strike, deflected by Tati, made it 1-4 on 90+3.

Abline lost 23 possessions and rarely found a shooting position, looking a shadow of himself. Junior Mwanga had a bruising first half, jogging back for the opener then pressing Sanson from the wrong side before the second, though he improved slightly after the break. Johann Lepenant, used wide right, covered ground but created nothing and lost 21 balls.
