The Cameroonian is not ready to return to action

Naples: Zambo Anguissa will have to wait a bit longer
Napoli will once again have to make do without Frank Zambo Anguissa. The Cameroonian midfielder has not sufficiently recovered from his back injury. As a result, he is not included in the squad called up to face Hellas Verona this Saturday in Serie A. His absence has been confirmed by Napoli's staff, who are choosing to err on the side of caution.
Franck Zambo Anguissa was expected to make his return for Napoli. Unfortunately, the news has struck like a hammer blow once again: he has not recovered enough to play. Sidelined for several months, the Cameroon international is still struggling to regain his best physical condition. His last league appearance dates back to November 9, 2025, against Bologna FC 1909. Since then, he has not set foot on a Serie A pitch, leaving a gap in the Partenopei's midfield.
Yet before his injury, Zambo Anguissa had already played 11 matches, scored 4 goals, and provided one assist since the start of the season. These figures highlight his importance to Napoli’s system, both in breaking up play and in driving the attack forward.
Fully aware of the challenges ahead, coach Antonio Conte has chosen not to take any risks. The Italian manager hopes to have his midfielder back in optimal condition for the rest of the league campaign, where every point will matter in the club’s pursuit of its objectives.
