In a post on his own social media channels, the 32-year-old wrote about his time on the treatment table:
“Thank you all for the affection you’ve shown me these past few days. After the terrible knee injury, I thought the worst. The tests later revealed significant trauma, but fortunately, the cruciate ligament held up.”
Di Lorenzo continued: “Not everyone knows this, but for the last six months I’ve been playing with a foot problem that requires surgery. However, not wanting to leave the team during a difficult period, I decided to play through it, even if it made things worse. The situation and the pain have become unbearable for me, and given the forced layoff due to my knee, we’ve decided to operate on my foot. I’ll do my best to return as soon as possible and continue to defend our beloved jersey in the best possible condition. Your captain!”
