Napoli gambling on Girona winger Gutierrez | OneFootball

Napoli will change system under Antonio Conte and are reportedly preparing an offer for Girona left-back Miguel Gutierrez.

It is no secret that Conte will transform the squad to a three-man defence when taking over next term, with a 3-4-3 more likely than the 3-5-2 of old.

He therefore needs reinforcements in the wider roles and Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio points towards Gutierrez for the left flank.

The player turns 23 next month and only made the move to Girona from Real Madrid at a cost of €4m in the summer of 2022.

He is a very attack-minded figure down the left flank, able to play in a four-man defence or in a more advanced role.

Gutierrez provided two goals and nine assists in 40 competitive games for Girona this season.

On the right flank, Napoli are already known to be pursuing Monaco’s Brazilian wide man Vanderson, who also turns 23 in a few weeks.

Meanwhile, Di Marzio also suggests that Conte will try to adapt Mathias Olivera to a left-sided central defensive role.
