Despite the recent announcements by Danilo and Cristiano Giuntoli, a transfer to Napoli is still on the table, Antonio Conte continues to consider him the ideal man to shore up the backline. He’s been informed by the Bianconeri that he’s for sale, Fabrizio Romano reports.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Brazil captain fits what the coach is looking for. He wants somebody ready and versatile. The player has signed off on the move. Agreeing on the wages wouldn’t be an issue. On the other hand, they have to convince Juventus. Stefano Pioli’s Al-Nassr has joined the race for the veteran.
The Bianconeri need to sign at least one center-back before partying ways with Danilo, which might not happen quickly enough for Napoli. The two teams are musing a swap between Nicolò Fagioli and Giacomo Raspadori, but the Bianconeri might prefer cashing in fully.
Per Gianluca Di Marzio, signing the former Real Madrid and Manchester City star might preclude the addition of Cristiano Biraghi since he can play as a left-back too. The Azzurri value Giacomo Raspadori at least €20M. They are open to sending him out on loan with an obligation to buy.
He’d be an okay signing because he’d be very cheap, but he has looked a bit long on tooth this campaign, perhaps affected by the irregular minutes. The timing might make a difference. The Partenopei might not be that interested in late January once Buongiorno returns. Perhaps the trade with Fagioli won’t occur due to other offers, but the two outfits seem to be getting increasingly close to cooking up something mutually beneficial.
