Napoli manager Antonio Conte aimed a dig at Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu during his latest interview.
Speaking to DAZN via FCInterNews, the former Nerazzurri boss delivered his verdict on Chivu’s recent statement about him.
Cristian Chivu recently confirmed that he ‘doesn’t care’ about Conte’s mind games.
Unlike Simone Inzaghi, who often found himself trapped in Conte’s psychological battles, Chivu has shown little interest in engaging in off-field controversies.
Furthermore, there’s no need for Chivu to worry about the 56-year-old’s remarks, considering Inter are leading the way in Serie A.
Indeed, the San Siro giants have steered four points clear of third-placed Napoli with a 2-0 win at Parma yesterday.
Chivu’s side will have a chance to extend the gap when the two sides lock horns at Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday.
Therefore, Conte has once again tried to knock his Nerazzurri counterpart of his perch and potentially destabilize him ahead of Sunday’s blockbuster.

“He’s right not to comment,” Conte said. “I don’t think I said anything extraordinary. I simply recalled the history of the three top clubs, even paying them compliments.
“Then, once again, you’re good at talking and always finding a negative angle that wasn’t there.
“I only mentioned history, but when I speak all hell breaks loose and you say I’m complaining.
“And I understand I’m a figure who generates media attention, but many times you create these situations out of thin air.
“I’m sorry because this only happens in Italy; it never happened to me in England.”
Despite trailing the Nerazzurri by four points, Conte doesn’t care about the deficit and Inter’s tag as the Scudetto favorites.
“I’m not interested in talking about favourites,” he stated. “You’re good at stirring things up over my words.
“We know we’re facing a strong team that has reached two Champions League finals in the last three years.
“We’ll go there with great desire and determination; we’ll count who’s available, but whoever plays will give their all.”
Finally, Conte confirmed that Pasquale Mazzocchi and David Neres are likely to feature in the upcoming clash in Lombardy.
“We might get Neres back, and Mazzocchi will certainly return from suspension,” he added.
