Napoli head coach Antonio Conte took another swipe at Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta following Saturday’s clash at the Maradona Stadium.

During his recent interview via FCInterNews, the former Nerazzurri boss hit back at Marotta’s post-match remarks.

Tensions don’t subside after last weekend’s controversial game in Naples.

Indeed, Napoli beat Inter 3-1, largely thanks to referee Maurizio Mariani, who awarded a phantom penalty to the Partenopei.

Despite being suspended after the game, Mariani inflicted irreparable damage on Cristian Chivu’s side at the Maradona.

His contentious first-half decision set the tone for Napoli’s triumph, resulting in Inter’s first defeat since mid-September.

Therefore, Beppe Marotta was justifiably annoyed after the game, lashing out at match officials.

Meanwhile, Antonio Conte appears unwilling to bury the hatchet. Instead, he’s continuing to provoke his former associates.

“Was the penalty justified? I think it’s right that you judge what happened,” Conte stated. “It wouldn’t be fair for me to come here and complain.

“Too few days have passed since the last match, with different behavior from others.

“We remain calm and confident in Rocchi and the refereeing standards, hoping that certain complaints do not influence decisions.

“It depends on who they come from. When presidents make statements, they think they are giving an important direction.

“We don’t complain, but we pay attention; we’re not naive. If someone wanted to send particular messages, that’s not acceptable,” Conte finished.

In addition to suspending Mariani, Serie A designator Gianluca Rocchi took action against assistant referee Daniele Bindoni.

Indeed, Bindoni will be out of action until the end of November.

He played a decisive role in getting Mariani to change his mind and award the penalty.

Therefore, Rocchi’s decision to sanction both officials underscores the league’s intent to hold referees accountable for poor calls.
