Napoli are in talks with Scott McTominay over a new contract in a bid to ward off Premier League interest.
The midfielder has been a big hit since signing for the Italian side from Manchester United for a fee of around £25m in 2024.
McTominay was a crucial part of the club’s title success last season, scoring 12 league goals to win Serie A’s Footballer of the Year Award.
He’s impressed again this season, again reaching double figures for goals in all competitions, with his performances having prompted speculation over a Premier League return.
Former side Manchester United, Newcastle United, and West Ham are among those tentatively linked, but Napoli are ready to recognise McTominay’s performances with a new deal.
Napoli director Giovanni Manna is confident of an agreement and has insisted the Scotland international has no plans to leave.
“Scott McTominay has two more years on his contract and we are talking about new deal,” he told Mediaset.
“He’s very happy here, you can see that every time he plays. We didn’t receive any proposals just because he doesn’t want to leave.”
