Despite having previously been very close to signing Udinese’s Nehuen Perez, Serie A giants Napoli seem set to miss out on the defender this month.
It was reported that a fee was agreed between the two Italian sides and Perez seemed set to join Napoli. But Corriere dello Sport (via CN24) state that the move seems to have frozen and it will now not go through.
It is stated that Leo Ostigard’s performance against Lazio was enough to convince the club to keep the Norwegian this month. As a result of Ostigard staying, Napoli have no space in their 22-man list for the rest of the Serie A season anymore. It will presented to the Lega Serie A at the end of the window and since there is no space, Napoli can’t sign Perez this month. As a result, the move will not happen and Ostigard could be regularly involved in the side.
