Three members of the first-team setup at Italian giants Napoli were again forced to sit out full training on Sunday, ahead of the club’s upcoming showdown with Barcelona.
The trio in question? Amir Rrahmani, Jens Cajuste, and Cyril Ngonge.
As revealed by Mundo Deportivo, citing official word stemming from the Napoli camp:
‘Rrahmani , Ngonge and Cajuste carried out a first part of work with the team and later personalized training on the grass’.
Significantly, it is noted that none of defender Rrahmani, midfielder Cajuste or attacker Ngonge were considered in a fit state to participate in contact drills.
All three therefore remain in serious doubt to feature in the 2nd leg of the Partenopei’s Champions League Last-16 tie with Barcelona on Tuesday night.
Of the trio, Rrahmani’s absence would undoubtedly come as the most significant for Napoli, with the Kosovo national team captain having acted as a near ever-present at the heart of the club’s backline across the season to date.
