Gunners win in Naples to kick off their new Champions League campaign

Arsenal began their latest bid for Champions League glory with a 1-0 win in Naples on Wednesday night. The Gunners arrived in southern Italy hoping to deliver an early statement victory in this season’s league phase to show there will be no lasting hangover from last year’s agonising final defeat on penalties to Paris Saint-Germain.

Mikel Arteta’s side were well worth all three points, but left it late to break the deadlock after missing a host of chances.
