The zoo in Naples, Lo Zoo di Napoli, have decided to name the latest addition to their Jaguar family ‘Romelu’, in honour of Partenopei striker Romelu Lukaku, who is already making a strong impression in the local community after his summer transfer from Chelsea.
The Naples Zoo have confirmed that a new Jaguar cub was born and introduced to the public as of Friday, and that the staff have decided to name him Romelu after the Belgium international.

“The zoo is close to the stadium, we experience every game and we are all big football fans,” said Dr Fiorella Saggese, curator of the Zoo di Napoli.
“It is a tribute to Napoli and a wish of good luck for the season,” she continued.
Lukaku has been in impressive form since he returned to Serie A at the end of the summer. The former Inter and Roma striker has a goal involvement every game since his transfer from Chelsea, recording four goals and four assists from his first eight Serie A matches this season.
It has been an equally impressive start from Napoli as a collective, as they sit atop the Serie A table after 10 matches, with a four-point advantage over reigning champions Inter.
