Napoli’s Cameroon midfielder Frank Anguissa has turned down a move to the Saudi Pro-League and is looking forward to working under new boss Antonio Conte.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via calcionapoli24.it), the 28-year-old, who is entering the final year of his current deal with the Vesuviani, has been convinced by his new coach, to remain at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Recent reports claimed that Anguissa, who arrived in Italy following a €16M switch from Fulham in 2022, is a primary target for clubs from the Saudi Pro-League.
Gazzetta states however that Conte, at his unveiling last week, claimed that the player was one of the untouchables in his current squad and will be the linchpin as Napoli looks to get back on track following a forgettable 2023-24 campaign.
Anguissa has made 95 appearances for the Partenopei since his arrival from the Premier League, scoring three times and making nine assists.
He was an integral part of Luciano Spalletti’s squad that clinched the Scudetto in 2023.
