Beating Puebla meant more than three points for Chivas Femenil: the Rojiblancas made it two wins in a row, scored three or more goals for the second consecutive match, found different solutions through their substitutions, and, above all, left plenty of positive impressions on the pitch. Among all these elements, one will likely become even more significant as the tournament progresses: Natalia Mauleón's integration into Antonio Contreras' team.

The Guadalajara No. 14 needs little introduction. Despite being just 24 years old, she already has 271 appearances in the Liga Femenil, a reflection of her outstanding technical and tactical qualities. In Matchday 2, the Michoacán-born midfielder made her first start for the Rebaño and showed exactly why her arrival is so important to the team.

Natalia played as part of Guadalajara's double pivot, on the left side of Eva González, with the freedom to move into spaces between the opposition's lines, find passing lanes, and then combine with Carolina Jaramillo and the attacking trio.

From an offensive standpoint, Mauleón's performance was outstanding. She came close to perfection in passing accuracy, missing on just two attempts, helping maintain the flow of possession while also creating danger through her movement and distribution. She even played an active role in the second goal, starting the move in her own half before finding the space that allowed 'Licha' Cervantes to receive the ball ahead of the midfield line and eventually set up Joseline Montoya, who finished the move.

Defensively, there were also several notable aspects. As mentioned above, her role in the double pivot required her to track back frequently, something she handled effectively. She provided constant support to the fullbacks, creating 2-v-1 situations, while also stepping forward at the right moments to join the team's pressing.

Although it is still too early to make a complete assessment of Mauleón's impact on the Rebaño Sagrado, it is already clear that she could be a top-level addition for Chivas Femenil throughout the Apertura 2026.
