National League Cup Preview: Scunthorpe United vs Leeds United U21s | OneFootball

Leeds United Under-21s continue their defence of the National League Cup on Tuesday evening as they travel to the Attis Arena to face Scunthorpe United.

The Whites will be keen to grab their first win of the Group D campaign after falling to defeat against an experienced Boston United outfit last time round.

Most recently in Premier League 2 action, Scott Gardner’s side recorded a well deserved 2-1 victory over Burnley U21s at Turf Moor, courtesy of goals from Harry Gray and Louie Dudley.

Scunthorpe likewise were defeated in their opening National League Cup fixture after being edged out by Sunderland U21s 3-2 on home soil.

The Iron have started life back in the fifth tier impressively after winning promotion from the National League North last campaign and are still unbeaten after their opening seven matches.

At the weekend, Andy Butler’s team were denied all three points at Forest Green as the hosts grabbed an equaliser deep into injury time.

Leeds will also face FC Halifax Town and Gateshead in Group D. Action from the Attis Arena gets underway at 7pm.
